The latest news about the celeb couple is their love story. City People gathered that the Comrade-Governor met Iara on an Emirates Airline flight. On Friday, 15th of May, 2015, Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole married his Cape Verdian new wife, Lara Fortes in grand style.
The elaborate ceremony which held in the Governor’s country home in Iyamoh, Auchi converged all the bigwigs in politics, Oil and Gas and some Nigerian billionaires.
The Governor who is in his 60s is an APC party member, hence all the stalwarts of All Progressives Party were fully represented at the grand event, from the President-Elect, General Mohammadu Buhari and his Vice Prof.
Yemi Osibajo and his wife, Femi Otedola, Nasir El Ruffai, Kaduna Gov. elect, Dangote, Jim Ovia, Bukola Saraki, Segun Awolowo, among several other dignitaries. The grand wedding was formalized at 10am where the couple exchanged their vows, while a classy reception followed at the Peoples Hall within the Governor’s country home.
The colourful venue was transformed into a spectacular floral ambience with different designs of blue, pink with white flora pieces. The Reception reeked opulence as the high and mighty in Nigeria partied and dined to the high heavens. After the cutting of the cake which was carried out under the supervision of the President elect, Gen.
Mohammadu Buhari, Vice President, Yemi Osibanjo & wife, the couple took to the dance floor. The groom looked fulfilled and elated, garbed in a black suit with white shirt and black tie. The very pretty bride dazzled in a white wedding gown that accentuate her full and sexy figure.
She wore no veil and had her full hair dragging all over her shoulder. Also in attendance were the bride’s parents who flew all the way from Holland to witness the union. Very tall, fair skinned, slim but curvy, Iara Fortes looked resplendent on her wedding day.
She was a beauty to behold and the question many seem to be asking is where on earth did the Governor find this chic? Sources say Iara, a model and former Air Hostess has been in a sizzling romance with the governor for a little over a year now. The pair were said to have met on Emirates Airlines on one of the Governor’s overseas trip.
They exchanged numbers and the rest, as they say, is now history.The wedding is coming 5 years after Gov. Oshiomhole lost his first wife, Clara, to Cancer.
